Welcome to the Inkwell Demo

Inkwell is a self-hosted blogging platform for .NET and SQL Server. This demo site runs the real code: sign in to the Desk, write posts, change the theme and read reports. The database resets every weekend, so nothing you create is kept.

  3. Where to go next

This site is a working copy of Inkwell, the self-hosted blogging platform built on .NET and SQL Server. Nothing here is a mock-up: the pages you read, the Desk you sign in to and the theme you switch are the same code a self-hoster runs.

What you can do here

Sign in at /admin with the demo account shown on the sign-in page. From the Desk you can write a post in the visual editor or in Markdown, schedule it, put it in a series, approve a comment, change the layout and colour preset, and read the analytics and AI-crawler reports.

Three accounts exist so you can see the roles: an Admin who can change settings, an Editor who manages every post, and an Author who can publish only their own work and must submit the rest for review.

What resets

Every weekend the database and the uploads folder return to this starting point. Anything you create disappears, so treat it as a sandbox and do not store anything you need. The three accounts are also put back every hour, in case someone changes a password.

Where to go next

This post opens the Your First Week with Inkwell series. Continue with writing a post in Markdown, then see how answer blocks make a post quotable, and finish with choosing a look. If you are evaluating a move from another platform, start with the WordPress migration series instead.

Nice to see a demo that is the real thing rather than screenshots. The Markdown editor is what sold me.
